The West Clayton Elementary 2023-24 Teacher of the Year is Mrs. DeAnna L. Leland.  Mrs. Leland is a Fourth Grade teacher at WCES. She’s our technology liaison, Social Studies Lead Teacher, Canvas Support Leader, and Girl Scout Troop Leader.  Mrs. Leland is a native of South Carolina and has lived in Georgia for the past 8 years. She’s been a teacher for 19 years and has taught at West Clayton for the past 5 ½ years. She loves teaching and working with the teachers and students at West Clayton. Mrs. Leland is a wife, mother, and nana (her grandchildren refuse to call her grandma). She loves singing, reading, shopping, and crafting. She’s an avid learner, as she’s preparing for graduate school to receive her doctoral degree in education. She loves many things:  the color green, the Dallas Cowboys, earrings, purses, dresses, Coca-Cola, and Resee’s ®.
